Operation Hugs

Operation Hugs was initiated in 1999 to bring an extra measure of comfort to victims being treated for the trauma of sexual assault and abuse at the Inova Fairfax Hospital Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program. Each year, the SANE Program serves about 550 patients. Approximately 65% of these patients are under 16 years old and about 65% are female.

Provides clothing and other essentials for sexual assault and abuse victims.

Operation School Bell

Assistance League of Northern Virginia volunteers enhance language arts and literacy skills for students in local elementary schools. Our goal is to help students improve their reading skills as well as instill an overall enjoyment of reading. Operation School Bell is implemented throughout the United States by more than 100 chapters and guilds of National Assistance League®.
