Welcome to Assistance League of Northern Virginia
Mission Statement
Assistance League of Northern Virginia is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to promoting literacy and well-being through community based programs.
Assistance League of Northern Virginia was organized as a guild in 1999 and was chartered as the 113th chapter of National Assistance League® in 2004.
We empower volunteers . . .
- To identify and meet needs in their communities
Members select, develop, fund and staff philanthropic projects.
- To strengthen and broaden their talents and skills
- To make a difference in people's lives
Members volunteered 56,410 hours and donated $137,175 to their communities during Assistance League's first eight years.
Members enjoy fulfilling friendships based on the spirit of giving.
Last year, over 50 members and community volunteers contributed more than 12,000 hours of community service to local projects.
